Mark 1
Tyndale New Testament
1The beginning of the Gospell of Iesu Christ the son of God,

2as it is written in the prophets, behold I send my messenger before thy face which shall prepare thy way before thee.

3The voice of one that crieth in the wilderness: prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

4Ihon did baptise in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance, for the remission of sins. 5And all the land of jewry, and they of Ierusalem went out unto him, and were all baptised of him in the river Iordan, knowledging, their sins. 6Ihon was clothed with camel's hair, and with a girdle of a beast's skin about his loins. And he ate locusts and wild honey, 7and preached saying: a stronger then I cometh after me, whose shoe latchet I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose. 8I have baptised you with water: but he shall baptise you with the holy ghost.

9And it came to pass in those days, that Iesus came from Nazareth, a city of Galile: and was baptised of Ihon in Iordan. 10And immediately he came out of the water, and saw the heavens open, and the holy ghost descending upon him like a dove. 11And there came a voice from heaven: Thou art my dear son, in whom I delight.

12And immediately the spirit drove him into a wilderness: 13and he was there in the wilderness xl. days, and was tempted of Satan, and was with wild beasts. And the angels ministered unto him.

14After that Ihon was taken, Iesus came into Galile, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, 15and saying: the time is ful come, and the kingdom of God is even at hand, repent and believe the gospel.

16As he walked by the sea of Galile, he saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting nets into the sea, for they were fishers. 17And Iesus said unto them: follow me, and I will make you to be fishers of men. 18And they straightway forsook their nets, and followed him. 19And when he had gone a little further thence, he saw Iames the son of Zebede, and Ihon his brother, even as they were in the ship dressing their nets. 20And anon he called them. And they left their father Zebede in the ship with his hired servants, and went their way after him.

21And they entered into Capernaum, and straight way on the Sabbath days he entered into the synagogue and taught. 22And they marvelled at his learning. For he taught them as one which had power with him, and not as the scribes did. 23And there was in the Synagogue, a man vexed with an unclean spirit, and he cried 24saying: let me alone: what have we to do with thee Iesus of Nazareth? Art thou come to destroy us? I know what thou art, thou art that holy man promised of God. 25And Iesus rebuked him, saying: hold thy peace and come out of the man. 26And the unclean spirit tare him, cried out with a loud voice, and came out of him. 27And they were all amazed, insomuch that they demanded one of another among themselves, saying: what thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for he commandeth the foul spirits with power, and they obey him. 28Anon his name spread abroad throughout all the region bordering on Galile.

29And immediately as soon as they were come out of the Synagogue, they entered into the house of Simon and Andrew with Iames and Ihon. 30Simon's motherinlaw lay sick of a fever, and anon they told him of her. 31And he came and took her by the hand and lifted her up, and the fever forsook her by and by: And she ministered unto them.

32And at even when the sun was down, they brought unto him all that were diseased, and them that were possessed with devils, 33and all the city gathered together at the door, 34and he healed many that were sick of divers diseases. And he cast out many: devils and suffered not the devils to speak, because they knew him.

35And in the morning very early, Iesus arose and went out into a solitary place, and there prayed. 36And Simon and they that were with him followed after him. 37And when they had found him, they said unto him: all men seek for thee. 38And he said unto them: let us go in to the next towns, that I may preach there also: for truly I came out for that purpose. 39And he preached in their synagogues, throughout all Galile, and cast devils out.

40And there came a leper to him beseeching him, and kneeled down unto him, and said unto him: if thou wilt, thou arte able to make me clean. 41Iesus had compassion on him, and put forth his hand, touched him, and said unto him: I will, be clean. 42And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed. 43and he charged him and sent him away forthwith 44and said unto him: See that thou tell no man, but get thee hence and shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing, those things which Moses commanded, for a testimonial unto them. 45But he (as soon as he was departed) began to tell many things and to publish the deed, insomuch that Iesus could no more openly enter into the city, but was without in desert places, and they came to him from every quarter.
